Alex Brown

Alex Brown was born in Bremerton, Washington, and currently resides in New Jersey where she has her studio in Lambertville, NJ. Brown has attended The Pennsylvania Academy of The Fine Arts from 1989-1993, where she has received a 4 year certificate in painting. Much of her time has been devoted to painting landscapes and studying the female nude figure. Her inspiration lies in nature and natural elements such as flowers, animals and people. Prolific in many styles of art such as realism and minimalist, she is most known for her use of color and space. Many of her floral paintings feature bright colors and simple yet dramatic compositions, much like the miniature nude paintings she is currently invested in. Fascinated by light, space and color she tries to convey this in each of her paintings.
