As a retired interior designer, Lisa is accustomed to using color, form, pattern, and other elements of design to create healing environments.
Several years ago, she started taking a variety of art classes, and found that the encaustic medium was full of opportunities to experiment and incorporate a multitude of other media and techniques. Part of the beauty of the medium is the ability to rework, melt, scrape, and add layers. She is delighted to find unexpected beauty in everyday objects. As she gets further away from a structured business environment, her work has been evolving to become more intuitive and abstract.
