Little Bo Peep

Little Bo Peep

$525.00

Little Bo Peep is a photo montage by Darlene Foster printed on fine art German etching paper.

The piece started with an image from an abandoned property in Middle Valley, NJ. The little girl is a vintage photograph that intrigued the artist with her odd expression, straw hat and stick in hand. It brought to mind the 1800's nursery rhyme about Little Bo Peep and her famous sheep. It was said that older residents in the village of Ninfield in East Sussex, England (a former smuggling center) claim that Little Bo Peep was its most famous resident. The story goes that her sheep were walked across the shore to disguise smugglers footprints. After learning about her dark side, Darleen decided instead of sheep, to use a flock of vultures that she happened to photograph on a trip to Jackson, NJ. Darleen describes this as Little Bo Peep according to The Brothers Grimm.

This is a 16x20 photograph, however it is matted and framed to be 20x24.
