Goat And His Goldfish
Barb & Simon, aka, The Goat & His Goldfish, met fresh out of art school. Barb, from Canada and Simon, from England have been a couple ever since. They worked together as textile designers forever & a day, and adopted a milliard of four legged furry critters over their 3+ decades of marriage & creativity. Currently they continue working on fabric design, but have taken to sweeping the local shorelines & doing a little bit to help clean up the sand & sea. Gathering the once useful then tossed aside & buried, they started repurposing pieces into useful & pretty second lives. They took to walking the local shores during the pandemic to silence the inner screams & feed the soul, picking up this & that on the way. Then with all the housebound hours, realised there were too frequent bird/window pane collisions and decided to make use of the multitude of vintage glass & historied artifacts they had gathered, making the first of their sun catchers as window warning systems for the feathered friends. Alas, the number of avian accidents plummeted! Running with the idea, they created a wee company, The Goat & His Goldfish. They then expanded the product range adding brooklyn beach rescued vintage bottles turned into Mudlarkers' Chandeliers. “Second chances are a blessing, reimagining what we have in front of us can be a joyous challenge.”
